My first watch (serious watch) was and still is a 1980s Tag Heuer gold inlay divers watch. It fascinated me because it's a small dial 200m dive watch, but it has 18K gold inlay and could easily be worn as a dress watch and it has unpolished stainless steel case and bracelet so has a tool watch look as well. Normally such a combination would be awful but Tag really did this one well. It was one owner from new as well. Secondly I acquired, thanks to my Fiancé, a circa 1970s Omega Seamaster Deville 14K Tiffany and Co edition with Omega strap and buckle, it came in a red Omega service return box and service certification. Absolutely genuine piece. The sheer beauty of it jumped out at me. It was a bargain price too. My third vintage watch is a 1960s manual wind 9K Jaeger Lecoultre no day or date. This has some slight degradation on the face but is in wonderful original condition. I knew next to nothing about vintage watches when I bought these but I just bought what I loved.

My violin lives in a case that belonged to Joshua Bell and housed the Huberman Strad.
